New Work: Music Licensing for Business – Diversity’s ’20DV’

A Groundbreaking Music Licensing for Business Project

Following the success of last year’s ‘Born Ready – 10 Year Anniversary Tour’, dance troupe Diversity has launched 20DV, their brand new dance tutorial website.

20DV offers online subscribers high definition dance tutorials at varying difficulties (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). It also includes music from a range of different artists, including Stormzy, Sam Smith, Mabel, HRVY, Sinead Harnett and a host of up-and-coming UK talent.

soundlounge are very proud to have overseen the music licensing and creative for the project (see a sample Dance Tutorial on our work page here). A digital project on this scale has never been done before in the UK, so it’s definitely been a learning process for all of us. It took over six months to get to the point where we could launch 20DV, but now it’s live we couldn’t be happier with the end product. Many thanks must go to all the artists and rights holders for believing in it. We’ve currently cleared over 40 tracks for 20DV and are very much looking forward to developing this exciting project over the coming months!

Of the project, Diversity founder Ashley Banjo says: “Diversity is so much more than just a dance group, and it extends much further than just the original guys who won Britain’s Got Talent back in 2009. It is also made up of our juniors DVJ and the incredible female dancers that make up such an important part of the team. We all have different dance styles/passions, and each bring a little something different to the mix. But collectively, we all absolutely love teaching and more importantly will never stop learning. Now we get our chance to pass this onto you.”
